Capitol Police arrest 40 people during healthcare protests

Capitol Police arrested 40 people on Capitol Hill Wednesday as they protested the Republican healthcare draft bill which aims to partially repeal and replace Obamacare, according to a report.

Police said the 40 individuals arrested were not complying with the cease-and-desist orders being given, so they were taken in and charged with “Crowding, Obstructing, or Incommoding,” according to Sinclair Broadcast Group.

“After officers arrived on the scene, they warned the demonstrators to cease and desist with their unlawful demonstration activities,” authorities said.

According to multiple social media posts, the offices of Sens. Marco Rubio R-Fla., Pat Toomey, R-Pa., and Rob Portman, R-Ohio, were targeted by protesters.
