1-year-old grazed by bullet and two others in critical condition after brazen Chicago shooting

A 1-year-old boy was grazed in the head by a bullet and two adults were critically injured in a shooting Thursday afternoon, according to authorities.

Police said the shooting took place at around 1:25 p.m. outside of a Shell Gas station on the city’s South Side.

Two men, 18 and 28, were shot while inside a car and were listed as being in critical condition, the Chicago Sun-Times reports. They were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center for treatment.

The 1-year-old, in a separate vehicle, was taken to Comer Children’s Hospital in fair condition.

Police reportedly found some two-dozen shell casings at the scene.

A nearby Walgreens was closed as investigators surveyed the area. One man complained about the store being closed, saying that people shouldn’t resort to shooting but should fight with their fists instead.

“All because these a******* can’t fight. No need to pull out guns. We fought all the time when we were coming up,” the man explained.
