Singer who wore MAGA dress to Grammy’s may run for Congress

Joy Villa, the singer who wore a Make America Great Again-themed dress to the 2017 Grammy Awards, said Friday she is seriously considering running for Congress as a Republican candidate.

“I’m looking at Florida, I’m looking at California and I’m looking at New York, because these are all places I live and work and have grown up in,” Villa said on Fox News Friday.

“If I run, I’m going to win,” Villa added. “There’s such a need for good congressmen, for good people in office who are putting forth the aims of the people, not just their own agenda.”

Villa, 31, said she would advocate for the same policies President Trump supports and would run as an “outsider” Republican.

Shortly after the interview, Trump tweeted a message of good luck to Villa.

“Good luck to @Joy_Villa on her decision to enter the wonderful world of politics. She has many fans!” Trump wrote.
