Update: K Street reopened near Franklin Square just after 4 p.m.

A multi-vehicle crash closed part of K Street Tuesday afternoon, involving a D.C. Circulator bus, two taxis and three cars.

The wreck occurred between 13th and 14th streets Northwest about 2 p.m. It closed the street in both directions.

At least one person was in critical condition, according to D.C. Fire and EMS. Some five others were being transported to local hospitals to be checked out.

The D.C. Circulator bus was apparently clipped by a taxi after the initial impact, according to the District Department of Transportation. None of its passengers was injured.
