President Trump slammed Democratic congressional candidate Jon Ossoff on Tuesday upon learning that he doesn’t currently reside in the district in which he’s running.
“Just learned that Jon Ossoff, who is running for Congress in Georgia, doesn’t even live in the district,” the president tweeted late in the afternoon.
“Republicans, get out and vote!” he added.
Ossoff is vying for the seat of former GOP Rep. Tom Price, who was appointed secretary of Health and Human Services by Trump. The former congressional staffer is running against 11 Republicans in the special House election and will face a runoff election in June if he fails to break 50 percent in Tuesday’s primary.
In a pair of tweets earlier Tuesday, Trump said the 30-year-old candidate would be “a disaster for Congress” and vote to raise taxes. The president also recorded robo-calls to generate support among district voters.
Just learned that Jon @Ossoff, who is running for Congress in Georgia, doesn’t even live in the district. Republicans, get out and vote!
