Scandal-ridden nonbinary drag queen official must be fired: GOP lawmakers

Republican lawmakers are demanding that a nonbinary Department of Energy official resign from the Biden administration amid renewed scandal.

Sam Brinton, 34, the Department of Energy’s deputy assistant secretary of spent fuel and waste disposition, was appointed in January amid controversy due to behavior and a history of promoting sexual fetishes. The official has since been suspended and charged with felony theft of a suitcase at an airport, but Republicans are demanding further action. In a letter to DOE Secretary Jennifer Granholm, the lawmakers demanded that Brinton resign, the Daily Mail reported.

THEFT CASE AGAINST BIDEN NONBINARY AIDE SAM BRINTON IS ADMITTEDLY ‘WEIRDER’

“We demand the resignation of Sam Brinton, and we implore you to set aside petty politics and appoint only the most qualified and dedicated individuals to influence America’s energy sector,” the letter, which was signed by 15 Republican lawmakers, including Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-GA), Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), Andy Biggs (R-AZ), and Nancy Mace (R-SC), read.

“As an appointed official, Sam Brinton represents both your Department and the United States,” the letter adds. “It is simply not possible for an individual to represent American values and simultaneously violate the felony laws of the land.”

Brinton was embroiled in scandal after less than a year on the job over allegedly stealing another person’s Vera Bradley bag at an airport, with contents totaling $2,325. After originally insisting ownership of the clothes, Brinton then admitted it was a lie and blamed the incident on being tired. The official now stands charged with felony theft, which carries a possible sentence of five years in prison.

“Brinton’s actions, along with your Department’s lack of transparency when dealing with this matter, reflect poorly on the Department of Energy, and they raise concern as to the Biden Administration’s priorities when appointing high-ranking officials. It is imperative that we do not allow a person charged with a felony to influence America’s policies,” the letter says.

While on leave, Brinton gave a “spanking seminar” and continues to advertise a presence in the “kink world.” The official’s bio on a kink website says Brinton has “been active in the kink world since 2013,” that Brinton hosts “monthly kink parties” in Brinton’s “dungeon in Washington, D.C.,” and goes on to say Brinton has “spanked over 2,000 cute butts.”
