Chef instructors from Baltimore International College baked and built 10 gingerbread homes to donate to Kennedy Krieger?s Festival of Trees.
“We decided as part of our skill building, we would create these gingerbread houses and donate them to Kennedy Krieger,” Baltimore International College director of instruction Rich Stuthmann said. “We delivered them all on Monday, and they had a 30-foot area set up just for the houses. It?s wonderful.”
Stuthmann said that gingerbread houses are great a family activity that anyone can try.
“You don?t have to be a chef to do it,” Stuthmann said. “You are only limited by your imagination and willingness to mix ingredients together and bake.”
Visitors to the gingerbread village can expect to see everything from houses to churches to barns and farms.
“Some are very ornate, some are traditional. It?s very eclectic in the display,” Stuthmann said. “There?s a lighthouse, the twin towers ? a whole variety.”
