Former President George H.W. Bush told the public to “cross the Bushes off your worry list” on Wednesday following the death of his wife of 73 years, Barbara Bush.

“We have faith she is in heaven, and we know life will go on — as she would have it. So cross the Bushes off your worry list,” the 41st president said in a statement, shared by spokesman Jim McGrath.

The former first lady died at the age of 92 on Tuesday after a year-long battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and congestive heart failure.
She was married to former President George H.W. Bush for 73 years. Barbara was the mother of six children, including former President George W. Bush and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, 17 grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
