Authorities have located a body in Fountainhead Regional Park in their search for Julia Shew, a 64-year-old accomplished rower who went missing over the weekend.
Fairfax County police said a woman’s body was found near the shoreline of the park at about 10:30 a.m. Friday. The chief medical examiner will officially identify the woman.
Shew had been rowing on the Occoquan River and her capsized rowing scull was found near the park at about 5 p.m. Saturday. Rescue crews have been searching for her since then.
