ABC’s The View host Meghan McCain unexpectedly skipped the show after she reportedly had a falling out with the other hosts.
“Meghan’s out today. She’ll be back on Monday,” host Whoopi Goldberg announced during the Thursday show. Sources told the New York Post that McCain was already planning a personal day for Friday but missed the Thursday show too.
The missed show comes as the conservative host’s clashes with her other hosts may have turned personal. “They aren’t speaking to each other. It’s been about a month. None of the ladies talk to Meghan now,” a show insider said.
McCain, 35, has also seen her relationship with her fellow host and former “ride or die,” Abby Huntsman, cool too. “Abby was the last woman standing. It’s bad. Meghan’s so rude. Abby tolerates Meghan, but she doesn’t genuinely like her. Their friendship has soured,” the insider said. Another source said the duo are “not as close” as they used to be but that “there’s no hatred between them.”
The tensions have boiled over on the show at times, and sources said they see the conservative host as “rude and dismissive.” Last month, Goldberg tore into the host after McCain claimed the show does not like hearing conservative perspectives. “Girl, please stop talking. Please stop talking right now,” Goldberg told McCain. The conservative responded that she would keep quiet for the rest of the show.

McCain routinely goes head to head with liberal host Joy Behar on the show, but both contend they are friends and get along well together off-screen.
