Trump: Jeff Flake meant to get caught on hot mic ‘saying bad things about your favorite president’

President Trump zinged Sen. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., for getting caught on a hot mic Saturday warning that the Republican Party will be “toast” if it becomes the party of Trump and Roy Moore.

“Sen. Jeff Flake(y), who is unelectable in the Great State of Arizona (quit race, anemic polls) was caught (purposely) on ‘mike’ saying bad things about your favorite President. He’ll be a NO on tax cuts because his political career anyway is “toast,” Trump said in a Sunday night tweet.

Flake was caught on a live microphone by ABC affiliate KNXV bashing Trump while talking with Mesa Mayor John Giles, – a friend of Flake’s – at a tax reform event.

“If we become the party of Roy Moore and Donald Trump, we are toast,” Flake is overheard saying

Flake has been more vocal about his dislike of Trump, especially when announcing in October he would not seek re-election in 2018.

“We must never regard as ‘normal’ the regular and casual undermining of our democratic norms and ideals. We must never meekly accept the daily sundering of our country — the personal attacks, the threats against principles, freedoms, and institutions, the flagrant disregard for truth or decency, the reckless provocations, most often for the pettiest and most personal reasons, reasons having nothing whatsoever to do with the fortunes of the people that we have all been elected to serve,” Flake said in the fiery 10 minute speech.

Trump has also called flake out on Twitter before for various things, including immigration.
