Two marijuana customers are lighting up a pair of California marijuana companies over the lack of THC in their product.
In a blunt lawsuit, Jasper Centeno and Blake Wilson are blasting DreamFields Brands and Med for America for false advertising in their Jeeter pre-rolls product, alleging it contains lower levels of THC than the companies claimed.
“Consumers are willing to pay more for cannabis products with higher THC content and expect to pay less for cannabis products with lower THC content,” a lawyer for the plaintiffs explained in a statement.

THC is the primary compound in marijuana responsible for giving users a high. Jeeter has touted one of its products as “the one Joint that will get you to Mars quicker than Elon Musk,” claiming it averages 35% THC levels. However, the suit cast doubt on that type of advertising.
In one instance, a product that claimed to have 46% TCH was pegged by lab research to contain 23% and 27% levels, per the suit. In addition to the lab statistic, the plaintiffs also pointed to a review by Weed Week in which staffers tested some of the Jeeter products and concluded that all the ones tested contained lower THC levels than what was claimed on the label.
Centeno and Wilson are suing for damages, contending they were overcharged for the product given that they were misled by the companies. The lawsuit does not make it clear how much the two men paid for the products. The duo claims to have purchased multiple Jeeter products in August and September.
A Jeeter spokesperson has denied the allegations of mislabeling its THC levels, arguing “the product and our integrity is something we truly value as a company.”
“We take pride in our compliance and commitment to state-mandated testing procedures, including independent, third-party testing,” a spokesperson told the Washington Examiner. “The product and our integrity are something we truly value as a company and take all the proper and legal steps before our product hits the shelves.

Marijuana in the Golden State is subject to the state’s Department of Cannabis Control’s regulatory purview. California had $5.7 billion worth of marijuana sales in 2021, per the Annual Marijuana Business Factbook.
The lawsuit was filed last Thursday in the Superior Court of California, County of Los Angeles.
