ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) — It’s the start of a tax-free shopping holiday in Maryland.
Sunday is the start of the annual Shop Maryland Tax-Free Week. That means qualifying clothing and footwear of $100 or less are exempt from the state’s 6 percent sales tax.
The tax free week runs through Saturday, Aug. 16. Shoppers don’t have to be Maryland residents to take advantage of the savings.
Unlike the tax-free holiday in Virginia school supplies will not be tax exempt.
