ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — A 19-year-old upstate New York man has pleaded guilty to manslaughter in the death of a five-week-old baby.
Prosecutors in Albany say Cavadeas Taylor of Kingston faces 15 years in prison when he’s sentenced on July 25 in the death of Seth Knox Jr.
The Times-Union of Albany reports (http://goo.gl/DlrbF3 ) that Taylor admitted as part of a plea deal that he hit the baby’s head against a wall last June in a city apartment. He said he was frustrated because the baby wouldn’t stop crying.
Officials say Taylor was a family friend and a caretaker to the child.
The boy’s 26-year-old father has been charged with a misdemeanor count of endangering the welfare of a child. He is accused of failing to seek prompt medical attention for his son.
