Wilmore: ‘First gentleman’ Bill Clinton ‘would be fantastic for comedy’

Comedian Larry Wilmore believes he will have lots to joke about with Bill Clinton back in the White House as “first gentleman.”

“No matter who’s president, we’ll have plenty of material,” Wilmore said Sunday morning on MSNBC’s “PoliticsNation” with Al Sharpton. “I mean, to have the first gentleman Bill Clinton in the White House would be fantastic for comedy.”

To have Donald Trump as commander in chief would also be “fantastic” for comedy but “horrible for America,” the “Nightly Show” host said.

Wilmore came under fire last week when he ended his comedy sketch at the White House Correspondents’ Association dinner by using the n-word.

“Yo Barry, you did it my n——a,” told the president.

Wilmore said Sunday that he was “summing up” the first black president’s time in office. “Any other year, I wouldn’t have done it,” he added.
