At least four people were transported to a hospital after a school bus in North Dakota ran off the road into a river Friday with students on board.
The incident took place at about 4:11 p.m. as the bus took students home in the Enderlin Area School District, according to the Cass County Sheriff’s Office.
“The bus was traveling eastbound on 50th St SE when the bus left the roadway,” authorities said.

“The bus went through the guardrail, down the ditch, over an embankment, before coming to rest in the Maple River.”
When deputies arrived on the scene, at least two students were discovered on the river’s embankment.
The driver and the students remained on the bus in the river.
“The driver and 2 students were transported to local hospitals by Ringdahl Ambulance Service out of Casselton and Lisbon,” according to Cass County officials.
“One student was transported by Sanford Airmed to a local hospital.”
None of those transported sustained life-threatening injuries.

Authorities are still investigating the incident.
