Actress Amber Heard’s account on Twitter no longer exists as of Thursday.
It is unclear why the account disappeared. Heard’s Instagram account is still online, despite not having posted since the verdict of her countersuit of defamation against ex-husband Johnny Depp. It’s possible she is among the celebrities that left Twitter over its change in ownership, including former wrestler Mick Foley, former Vermont Gov. Howard Dean, executive producer of the television series This is Us Ken Olin, actor Alex Winter, and most recently, screenwriter Shonda Rhimes.
Heard dated current Twitter CEO Elon Musk after meeting him at the 2016 Met Gala following her divorce from Depp. From 2016 to 2018, Heard donated $1.2 million to the American Civil Liberties Union across three payments, with the help of her then-boyfriend. The second payment of $500,000 came in February 2017 while Heard was dating Musk. Simultaneously, Musk made a separate donation of $5 million through the investment company Vanguard, the same entity through which Heard’s contribution was made.

Heard would go on to admit in an interview with psychologist Dr. Dawn Hughes during her defamation trial against Depp that she was still “heartbroken” when she met Musk and began dating him despite the fact that she “felt nothing then.” Musk was on Heard’s witness list but revealed that he would not virtually testify during the trial.
Other users have speculated about the platform after their conflicts with the new CEO. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) suggested her notifications stopped working after she got “under a certain billionaire’s skin” following their spat.
Also my twitter mentions/notifications conveniently aren’t working tonight, so I was informed via text that I seem to have gotten under a certain billionaire’s skin ?
Just a reminder that money will never by your way out of insecurity, folks.
