A man in Boise, Idaho, was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly vandalizing a statue of former President Abraham Lincoln with paint and feces.
Terry Joe Wilson, 37, was detained after a warrant was issued for his arrest last week. Wilson’s online identity listed himself as an associate professor at Boise State University.
In an emailed statement to the Daily Wire, a Boise State spokesperson said Wilson is “not a current student nor employee of the university.”

Local authorities in February responded to reports of vandalism to a bronze statue of Lincoln in Julia Davis Park, called the “Seated Lincoln.”
Police found the statue was vandalized with feces and paint. The statue was not permanently damaged, as parks and recreation staff were able to clean it.
Investigators were able to locate Wilson using physical and electronic evidence. When police closed-in for arrest, Wilson fled.
“Officers chased after Wilson and were able to stop him and take him into custody, at which time Wilson was found to be in possession of a firearm, marijuana and drug paraphernalia,” the Boise Police Department said in a readout. “Wilson was taken to the hospital and was medically cleared before being booked into the Ada County Jail.”
Authorities said the investigation is ongoing and more arrests are expected.
Wilson was charged with several misdemeanor counts, such as injuring monuments, ornaments and public improvements, resisting and obstructing officers, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
