Welsh soprano singer Charlotte Church is the latest in the long line of celebrities to reject an offer to perform at President-elect Trump’s inauguration.
Church took to Twitter early Tuesday morning to make it clear that she’s not performing for “tyrant” Trump. “Your staff have asked me to sing at your inauguration, a simple Internet search would show I think you’re a tyrant,” she tweeted, complete with poop emojis.

In the past, Church has voiced her opinion about Trump, calling him a “sith” and saying she wanted to cry when Trump was talking about foreign policy.

On Monday, artist Moby posted on Instagram that he was asked by a booking agent to DJ at the Jan. 20 event. Moby said he would DJ at the inaugural ball on one condition: if Trump released his tax returns.
“Hahahahaha, I was just asked by a booking agent if I would consider djing at one of the inaugural balls for #trump… Hahahahaha, wait, Hahahaha, really? I guess I’d DJ at an inaugural ball if as payment #trump released his tax returns. Also I would probably play public enemy and stockhausen remixes to entertain the republicans. I’m still laughing. Hahahaha. So #trump what do you think, I DJ for you and you release your tax returns?” he wrote.
Earlier this month, a former British “X Factor” contestant Rebecca Ferguson said she would accept an invitation only if she could perform “Strange Fruit,” a song that was blacklisted in the U.S. for being too controversial. The song is about racism and lynching and “speaks to all the disregarded and downtrodden black people in the United States.”
In a statement Tuesday, Ferguson wrote that she picked that song “as I felt it was the only song that would not compromise my artistic integrity and also as somebody who has a lot of love for all people, but has a special empathy as well for African American people and the #blacklivesmatter movement.”
So far, 16-year-old Jackie Evancho, the Rockettes and the Mormon Tabernacle Choir have confirmed they will perform at the inauguration.
Evancho, the “America’s Got Talent” runner-up, will sing the national anthem at the event. “I’m so excited. It’s going to be awesome,” Evancho said.
Trump’s inauguration has been surrounded in drama as his team struggles to find artists willing to perform.
In a tweet, Trump lashed back at critics who said his inauguration festivities are struggling. “The so-called ‘A’ list celebrities are all wanting tixs to the inauguration, but look what they did for Hillary, NOTHING,” Trump tweeted, adding, “I want the PEOPLE!”
About 1 million people are expected to attend the inauguration.
