‘No one knows who the hell you are’: Trump rips Yahoo News reporter for incorrect coronavirus statistic

President Trump pushed back on a Yahoo News reporter following a question about the number of coronavirus tests conducted in South Korea compared to the United States.

“South Korea has done five times more tests than the U.S. per capita. Why is that?” a Yahoo News reporter asked during a meeting between Trump and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis in the White House.

“I don’t think that’s true,” Trump responded.

“That is true, and you said this morning that — the White House said that the U.S. passed South Korea in virus testing,” the reporter said back.

“That’s why you are Yahoo. No one knows who the hell you are. That’s why nobody knows you are, including me.”

Coronavirus response team member Dr. Deborah Birx provided a follow-up answer to the question.

“It looks to me the statistic the reporter cited is incorrect,” Vox’s Aaron Rupar tweeted. “Though South Korea was far ahead in terms of per capita testing for a long while, the US caught up about a week ago.”

Over a million cases of the coronavirus have been confirmed in the U.S., resulting in almost 60,000 deaths.
