THE DAILY OUTRAGE: If only this could be described through interpretive dance

WHO: The National Endowment for the Arts

WHAT: The Pig Iron Theatre Company in Philadelphia received a $25,000 stimulus grant to stage a play that involves “cowboys perform[ing] a clown ballet on asphalt” and “a stunningly mean group of foulmouthed waitresses.”

WHY IT’S AN OUTRAGE: The stimulus bill is a jobs bill, not a “Hey, let’s fund experimental stage productions” bill. Expect a stunningly mean group of foulmouthed taxpayers come election time if this keeps up.

WHERE TO VENT: The National Endowment for the Arts at 202-682-5400.
