Kristol Clear Vacation
The boss is taking a newsletter break this week. But if you want to keep up with his thoughts, read his editorial in the new issue here, listen to his two most recent podcasts with Michael Graham, and one he did with ABC near the end of the week, and go back and read his tweets for the last several days. So even without the newsletter, you can get a sense for what he’s thinking…
He’ll be back reporting on our 1,000th issue celebratory party, the NBA finals, and other significant matters next week…

Prufrock, the Confab, and Newsletters
Since the boss is on a break this week, we’d like to take this opportunity to remind readers about some of the new features at THE WEEKLY STANDARD.
The first is Prufrock: a fine collection of links and clips for those interested in the books and arts, as compiled by Micah Mattix. It appears every morning on our site, Monday through Saturday.
The second is Managing Editor Eric Felten’s new podcast, The Confab, which appears on the site on weekends. Six episodes in, Eric has brought on a variety of TWS staffers and contributors to give readers a sense of the story behind the story, and the fun newsroom discussions that don’t always make it into the story.
Lastly, we’ve created an updated sign-up site for our newsletters. There are some new newsletters in the pipeline, but if you haven’t signed up for all of them, you are missing out: Jonathan V. Last’s weekly newsletter is a must read.
We’ve also added the “Editor’s Corner” to the Daily Standard newsletter, which goes out each day at four. In addition to the great TWS content, we share the articles, tweets, and videos that are bouncing around the TWS newsroom.
Until next week,
Jim Swift
