A video of former President George W. Bush passing what appears to be a piece of candy to former first lady Michelle Obama has gone viral after the moment was captured by news networks covering the funeral service honoring the life of Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

In the clip, Bush can be seen taking a small object from former first lady Laura Bush and giving it to Obama. Obama then seems to whispers “thank you” in return.
The George W. Bush Presidential Center did not respond to a request for comment from USA Today seeking to clarify what George W. Bush passed to Obama.
Bush and Obama have not been shy about flouting their bipartisan friendship during a slew of joint public appearances. A photo of Obama hugging Bush at the opening of the National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington in 2016 similarly went viral.
The pair were in the nation’s capital Saturday to mourn the late McCain, who passed away on Aug. 25 following a fight with brain cancer. Bush and former President Barack Obama, who both quashed McCain’s presidential ambitions, offered moving tributes at the service.
McCain will be buried Sunday at the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md.
