15-year-old faces sexual battery and attempted robbery charges in Loudoun County

A 15-year-old boy faces charges in two incidents in Loudoun County, authorities said.

The suspect, whose name was not released because of his age, faces juvenile petitions for sexual battery and attempted robbery in connection with a Jan. 23 incident and attempted robbery in connection with a Jan. 17 incident, according to the Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office.

A witness told the sheriff’s office that he saw a female being assaulted on Jan. 23 in the 100 block of East Holly Avenue in Sterling. When the witness approached, authorities said, the victim the suspect left the area.

The victim later told sheriff’s deputies that the suspect attempted to take her money and grope her, according to the sheriff’s office.

The 15-year-old was also tied to an incident that took place at about 7 p.m. on Jan. 17 around East Furman Drive and Auburn Drive in Sterling. Authorities said that a 32-year-old woman was in her car when the suspect grabbed her through the open driver’s side door. The woman screamed and the suspect left the scene.

Investigators located the suspect on Wednesday, authorities said.
