Ryan will introduce Pence at RNC

CLEVELAND — House Speaker Paul Ryan will introduce Indiana Gov. Mike Pence Wednesday night as he delivers his vice presidential acceptance speech to the Republican National Convention.

The news came from a top aide to Ryan, who considers himself a close friend to Pence. Ryan and Pence, Donald Trump’s running mate, served in Congress together for six terms.

Ryan was the GOP’s vice presidential nominee in 2012. Ryan’s running mate, Mitt Romney, is a convention no-show.

“I have the highest regard for Mike Pence,” the Wisconsin Republican told reporters earlier this month. “He’s a personal friend of mine.”
