Alison Asti has agreed to step down from her positions as executive director, general counsel and director of development of the Maryland Stadium Authority after reaching a settlement with the MSA this afternoon.
Asti?s resignation is contingent on approval from the Maryland Board of Public Works. Terms of the settlement were not immediately released.
After about two hours of negotiations on Wednesday afternoon between Asti and the authority, the authority unanimously accepted Asti?s resignation.
“I?m satisfied with the terms we?ve reached,” Asti said after the MSA meeting.
Speculation about Asti?s removal has grown since July, when Frederick W. Puddester was appointed chair of the authority by Gov. Martin O?Malley. Asti had said she believed there were “political” reasons behind the rumors of her possible removal.
“There was nothing ever suggested about the quality of my performance,” Asti said, referringto the negotiations surrounding her resignation.
