Beltsville blaze displaces two residents

An early morning fire in Beltsville destroyed a house and displaced its two residents, a Prince George’s County fire department spokesman said.

When firefighters arrived at the single family home on the 3000 block of Ellicott Road, they found it engulfed in flames. Before they could put the blaze out, the building’s first floor collapsed into the basement, the spokesman said. No one was injured, but there was about $150,000 in damage.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
