Trump questions Hillary Clinton’s ‘loyalty’ to her husband

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump cast doubt on former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s “loyalty” to her husband Saturday during a rally speech.

The real estate mogul was telling the crowd of about 5,000 in Manheim, Penn. that Clinton would not stand up for the working class when he made the remark.

“Hillary Clinton’s only loyalty is to her financial contributors and to herself,” Trump said.

“I don’t even think she’s loyal to Bill, if you want to know the truth. And really folks, really, why should she be?”

Trump then chuckled and added, “Why should she be?”

It’s an escalation of campaign rhetoric coming from the Trump campaign this week regarding the marriage of Hillary and Bill Clinton. The former president had an infamous affair with Monica Lewinsky during his time in office that led to his impeachment and has had numerous other infidelities exposed. He’s also been accused of sexual assault on multiple occasions.

However, much of the attacks from the Trump camp have mentioned the former president’s infidelities or the former Secretary of State’s role as an “enabler” of her husband, according to Trump. Saturday’s statement from the real estate mogul was the first time he’s even Hillary Clinton hasn’t been loyal to her husband.

Trump offered no explanation or proof for his remark.

Instead, Trump continued on with his original line of attack, stating that large corporations are going to have Clinton in their pocket with their donations.

“The wealthy donors who want to shut down American energy … they’re giving to Hillary Clinton,” he said. “The special interest who want to open American borders, they’re giving to Hillary Clinton.”
