Kucinich served in the House from 1997 to 2013. He also ran in the 2004 and 2008 Democratic primaries for president.
Kucinich said is running to replace incumbent Gov. John Kasich, R-Ohio, who is term-limited, because he understands supporters of President Trump and says he is best suited to work with liberals and conservatives.
“I can reach out to the people who voted for President Trump. I can show them that there are Democrats who stand solidly for economic progress, who want to protect our markets, who want to stand up for everyday Americans.,” Kucinich added.
