Man pleads guilty in MoCo slaying

A man who gained notoriety as a 3-foot-11 fugitive pleaded guilty in a Silver Spring slaying.

Henry Chavez, 29, admitted in Montgomery County Circuit Court on Tuesday that he shot Hamington Luis Ravanales Orozco three times in the head last May.

Authorities said Chavez assaulted Orozco outside a home on the 10100 block of Georgia Avenue on May 27, 2010.

Chavez fled, and was wanted by police for months after being named as a suspect in the slaying. He was apprehended in El Salvador in February and was extradited to Maryland.
