Man sentenced in prison for Fla. teacher’s death

FORT MYERS, Fla. (AP) — A man who pleaded guilty to killing a southwest Florida middle school teacher has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.

Amy Patterson was reported missing in July 2011 when she didn’t show up for the first day of school. Her body was found more than a year later on a remote part of Pine Island near the home she shared with her ex-husband, Daniel Proctor.
