Marion Barry loses Jag

Someone stole D.C. Councilman Marion Barry’s car, he told police.

The car, a silver 2002 Jaguar Type X, was left in front of the Patricia R. Harris Education Center with the keys still in the ignition but the engine off. The former mayor went inside the building at 4600 Livingston Road SE for about 30 minutes, between 10:45 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. Saturday, and when he came back the car was gone, said D.C. police officer Hugh Carew. Police have no suspect information and have not recovered the vehicle, Carew said.

This is not the first time Barry has claimed to be a victim of crime. In 2007, he reported that he had an expensive collection of watches and cuff links stolen from his home.
