Rep. Tulsi Gabbard accused MSNBC of using talking points given to them by Sen. Kamala Harris during a segment on the show.
“It sounds like these are talking points that Kamala Harris and her campaign are feeding you because she’s refusing to address the questions,” the Hawaii Democrat said Thursday after MSNBC host Yasmin Vossoughian asked Gabbard about her meeting with Syrian dictator Bashar al-Assad.
“Congresswoman, it’s important, I think, for the American people to have context about your foreign policy issues and where you stand. If you’re leading with foreign policy and running for president of the United States. A meeting with Bashar al-Assad, which I’m sure you understand, is a very controversial meeting to take,” Vossoughian countered.
“This is where the propaganda comes in,” said Gabbard, adding she was tired of having to answer the same questions about Assad every time she went on the network.
The congresswoman said she would meet with any dictator if it meant making the U.S. safer.
The contentious segment followed a debate performance Wednesday in which Gabbard hammered Harris for her record as California’s attorney general.
