Sarah Sanders: The media should appreciate ‘our side’ more

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders says the media needs to appreciate her “side” more for working hard and doing their best.

Speaking on a panel alongside reporters at George Washington University, Sanders opened up about the criticisms she’s faced in her tenure and how it relates to similar ones the president bestows on the media.

“I’ve been called outrageous things,” she explained. “It goes unquestioned, there’s no pushback.”

Responding to pleas for respect from members of the media, the press secretary answered, “there has to be an appreciation too for our side — that we’re working hard, that we’re putting in the hours. We are doing the very best we can to represent the administration.”

During the panel, Sanders also pledged her office is working to make sure there will be more on-the-record sources for journalists to redeem credibility in stories.
