Joe Biden: Trump is the ‘only president who’s decided not to represent the whole country’

Former Vice President Joe Biden took jabs at President Trump during his campaign kickoff rally in Pittsburgh, Pa., on Monday, accusing Trump of only representing his base of supporters.

“So folks, quite frankly the only thing that stands in our way is our broken political system that’s being deliberately undermined by our president. Donald Trump is the only president who’s decided not to represent the whole country,” Biden said. “The president has his base. We need a president who works for all Americans.”

“And I’m optimistic for two reasons. When ordinary Americans like my family are given an even chance, just an even chance they do extraordinary things. They never, ever let the country down. And the second reason I’m optimistic is I know we’re in a better position than any nation in the world to own the 21st century,” he said.

During the rally, Biden, who was born in Scranton, Pa., and went on to serve as a senator from Delaware for 36 years, gave his full support to unions and the working class: “I make no apologies, I am a union man”
