Hannity purchases hundreds of New York Yankees tickets for healthcare workers fighting coronavirus

Conservative commentator Sean Hannity has purchased 500 New York Yankee tickets for New York City healthcare workers on the front lines fighting the coronavirus.

“Challenge met,” Hannity said in response to a tweet from fellow Fox News host Ainsley Earhardt. “I called my friend Randy Levine of the NY .@Yankees and purchased 500 Yankee Tkts for The Hero medical workers all over NY. Randy and Hal Steinbrenner and the Yankees immediately donated 500 more tkts!!”

The 2020 Major League Baseball season has currently been put on hold until further notice due to coronavirus concerns.

“The challenge” is a social media campaign charging prominent and well-off U.S. citizens with doing good deeds for first responders and medical workers.

Hannity, a personal friend of President Trump’s, has spent time on his nightly news program thanking first responders and praising Trump’s response to the pandemic. Some pundits and academics, however, have slammed Hannity for downplaying the dangers of the coronavirus during its early days.
