Czech police repurposed a 2011 Ferrari F 142-458 Italia that was seized due to criminal activity, adding a fresh coat of paint before it hit the roads as a patrol car on Friday.

The cost of refitting the vehicle with police markings and equipment was approximately 340,000 Czech koruna, or $14,000, less than the price of the Skoda Scala station wagons that the police force typically uses, Capt. Jakub Vincalek said in a statement.
The car will be used for police activities such as chasing stolen vehicles passing through the country, patrolling highways, and scouting out illegal street racing, which typically involves high-performance vehicles.

The Ferrari is one of many valuable cars that Czech police have seized. In the past year, almost 900 vehicles were taken into possession by police, many of which were sold for proceeds used to cover the damage caused by the offender.
It’s not the first luxury vehicle to be used by police. Last year, the Dubai Police Force added an Aston Martin Vantage to its fleet.
