WASHINGTON (AP) — U.S. Navy officials say four sailors were injured when one its ship was transferring supplies and fuel to the aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman off the coast of Florida near Jacksonville.
U.S. Fleet Forces Command said Tuesday that two of the sailors were flown to the Naval Hospital in Jacksonville for treatment of their injuries. Another was taken to Naval Station Norfolk for further evaluation and one sailor was treated on board the Truman for minor injuries.
Navy officials say the refueling ship USNS Patuxent was resupplying the Truman Tuesday when one of the flexible metal lines used to help transport supplies broke away.
