CNN’s John King walks back claim Biden campaign was going to file injunction on Iowa results

CNN anchor John King apologized for reporting on-air that Joe Biden’s presidential campaign was considering filing an injunction to prevent the release of the results of the Iowa caucus.

King, 56, reported on Tuesday that the Biden campaign “is going to file an injunction,” and cited “aides to other campaigns” as the source behind that information. King’s remark came as the Iowa caucus results remained in limbo after “inconsistencies” in data being reported to headquarters.

“Important: Team Biden says talk it may challenge IA release plans 100% untrue,” King tweeted on Tuesday afternoon. “In the breaking news rush my discussing, even skeptically, incoming from rival campaigns was, in a word, stupid.”

Biden’s campaign, who was expecting a disappointing performance in Iowa, demanded answers for the mishap, arguing that state party officials should provide “full explanations and relevant information regarding the methods of quality control you are employing, and an opportunity to respond, before any official results are released.”
