Twitter is blasting local Canadian politician Jon Reyes for a tweet he posted admiring his wife for coming back after a 12-hour shift and shoveling the driveway, apparently all by herself.
“Even after a 12 hour night shift at the hospital last night, my wife still has the energy to shovel the driveway,” Reyes tweeted along with a picture of his wife outside shoveling snow, while he appears to be inside peering at her from the window. “God bless her and all our frontliners. Time to make her some breakfast.”

Many Twitter users responded harshly to Reyes’s tweet, largely criticizing him for appearing not to offer his wife any help.

Sports commentator Jim Toth tried to cut Reyes some slack, saying, “I see this & assume a man hears something on the driveway, looks & can’t believe his wife started shoveling before coming inside once she returned home from work. I assume he is amazed & tries to show the world how incredible she is. That’s just me, that’s just my assumption,” he tweeted.
