A Connecticut high school suspended its girls basketball coach after their team beat another in a humiliating 92-4 blowout.
Sacred Heart Academy, in Hamden, Connecticut, achieved the demolishing score against Lyman Hall-Wallingford on Monday night.
The Sacred Heart Academy Sharks were up 29-0 after the first quarter, 56-0 by halftime, and 80-0 after the third quarter, KFDA reported.

The school’s president apologized for how the game was played and suspended the team’s coach, Jason Kirck, for one game for running up the score.
“Sacred Heart Academy administration and athletics are deeply remorseful for the manner through with the outcome of the game was achieved,” a statement from the school reads.
The Connecticut Interscholastic Athletic Conference said that it does not have jurisdiction to act on the incident but has been in contact with both involved schools.
“The CIAC promotes safety and sportsmanship above all else for our member schools,” Gregg Simon, the conference’s associate executive director, said in a statement. “We have been in communication with both schools as well as the Southern Connecticut Conference and we will continue to offer support to our member schools as they work through this difficult situation.”

Sacred Heart’s team is considered one of the best in the state and is undefeated this season, according to WFSB. The two schools are scheduled to face off once again Jan. 28.
