Trump: I won’t win the Nobel Peace Prize, just like ‘The Apprentice’ never won an Emmy

President Trump predicted that he will not receive a Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to denuclearize North Korea — just like his show “The Apprentice” never received an Emmy Award.

“Well, they’ll never give it to me. We should have gotten the Emmy for ‘The Apprentice,’ you know?” Trump said, according to the New York Post. “I had the No. 1 show, ‘The Apprentice.’ Arnold Schwarzenegger blew it. Big movie star. It was dead in two nights. I had it for 14 seasons.”

During the 14 seasons that Trump hosted the “The Apprentice,” the show was nominated for an Emmy Award eight times but never won. In particular, Trump referenced the how CBS’s “The Amazing Race” beat “The Apprentice” in 2004.

“So they’re saying he’s done a magnificent job, this show has gone to the top of the heap … and the winner is, and I stood up … and they said ‘Amazing Race’ and I said, ‘You’ve got to be kidding?’ That show was terrible,” Trump said. “‘Amazing Race’ got it because ‘Amazing Race’ was the establishment.”

Trump was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize earlier this year by two Norwegian lawmakers after Trump met with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to work towards denuclearizing the Korean peninsula. U.S. lawmakers had previously called for Trump to be nominated in a letter to the Norwegian Nobel Committee before his meeting with the rogue regime.

President Barack Obama won a Nobel Peace Prize in 2009 for his “extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples.”

Former Vice President Al Gore and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change were also awarded a Nobel Peace Prize “for their efforts to build up and disseminate greater knowledge about man-made climate change, and to lay the foundations for the measures that are needed to counteract such change.”
