A woman who died after jumping from a New York City apartment building Sunday morning has been identified as former Miss USA Cheslie Kryst.
The former pageant winner was found after leaping from her 60-story apartment building, according to the New York Post.
“In devastation and great sorrow, we share the passing of our beloved Cheslie,” her family said in a statement. “Her great light was one that inspired others around the world with beauty and strength. She cared, she loved, she laughed and she shined.”

Kryst won the Miss North Carolina USA 2019 pageant and the Miss USA 2019 competition. She was the oldest woman to win the title of Miss USA at the age of 28 years and 4 days. She was also a top 10 finisher in the Miss Universe 2019 competition.
Kryst was also a lawyer with a degree from Wake Forest University School of Law, where she graduated from in 2017, and was a New York correspondent for Extra.

Extra producers said in a statement: “Our hearts are broken. Cheslie was not just a vital part of our show, she was a beloved part of our ‘Extra’ family and touched the entire staff. Our deepest condolences to all her family and friends.”
