Trump: ‘Democrats do not want to help DACA’

President Trump called out Democrats Monday night, claiming they are unwilling to make a deal surrounding the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program.

“The Democrats do not want to help DACA. Would be so easy to make a deal,” Trump tweeted.

A spending bill that must pass by March 23 to avoid a government shutdown has rekindled the fire ignited by President Trump’s push to rework immigration policies.

The DACA program hangs in the balance as the White House and congressional Democrats struggle to make a deal on immigration, with both sides rejecting the others proposals this past weekend, Politico reports.

According to the outlet, the Trump administration pitched a deal to include $25 billion in border wall funding and a two-and-a-half-year extension for the DACA program in a funding bill, but Democrats rejected the offer
