Poll: Obama has third straight positive month

President Obama has had a net-positive approval rating for three months in a row, according to a new poll.

In a new CNN/ORC survey released Friday, 51 percent of adult Americans said they approved of Obama’s leadership in April, compared to 46 percent who disapproved.

He had the same rating in March, and in February, which started his streak, 50 percent approved and 46 percent disapproved.

But those positive reviews seemingly stop with the president. Less than half of those polled think America is doing well. Forty percent say “fairly well” and just 9 percent say “very well.”

Another 28 percent say the country is struggling “pretty badly” and 23 percent say it is struggling “very badly.”

Half of Americans say the economy is “somewhat” or “very” poor.

The telephone poll of 1,001 adult Americans was conducted April 28-May 1 and carries a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points.
