Foreclosures statewide were up 479 percent last month from April 2007 and 41.57 percent from the month before, according to data released Wednesday by online foreclosure database RealtyTrac. The 6,052 filings, including default notices, auction sale notices and bank repossessions, ranked Maryland sixth nationally for foreclosures last month. The total filings break down to one for every 380 households across the state. Across the United States, foreclosure filings were up 4 percent from March and 65 percent from April 2007. Nevada again ranked first with one filing for every 146 households.
