“Pulp Fiction” actor Tim Roth says he knew Donald Trump would pull through victorious on Election Day because the working class felt like they were being ignored by Washington and because the threat of fascism wasn’t taken “seriously enough.”
“If you neglect the working class for so fucking long they will rebel against you,” Roth told the Guardian in an interview published Sunday. “There was a dire need to stop a rise of fascism in America and we didn’t take it seriously enough,” he added.
Roth, who was born in London, is not a citizen of the U.S., so he couldn’t vote in this election. But he was a supporter of Bernie Sanders and later Hillary Clinton, and professed no love for the Republican nominee.
“I hate Trump. I hate everything that he stands for. He should never be forgotten or forgiven for anything he said on the road to the White House,” Roth said. “There should be no concession to him. No ‘Let’s give him a chance’. None of it.”
“‘Grab them by the pussy,’ right? Look at where we are now and who is in charge of this country and, by extension, a good chunk of the world — someone with misogynistic tendencies,” Roth added, referring to a leaked 2005 video in which Trump can be heard making lewd comments about seducing women.
