BILOXI, Miss. (AP) — The oldest casino in the South is getting a $100 million makeover. The Isle Casino will reopen at 1 p.m. Friday as the Golden Nugget Casino Biloxi.
The Sun Herald reports (http://bit.ly/13KtO58 ) that changes range from new windows and fewer walls to new carpet and new nametags. They’re only the first phase.
Vice president of marketing Bradley Rhines says all 700 rooms and suites could be remodeled by the end of the year.
The changes officially began in November, when Landry’s Golden Nugget bought the Isle of Capri’s Biloxi property.
It was the first casino in the South when it opened in a pair of paddle boats on Aug. 1, 1992.
