Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue?

It’s been a rough couple of weeks for poor old Gordon Brown. First there was the slight of the Obami; next, those crappy (pirated?) DVDs they gave him didn’t work; then the smackdown by Conservative MEP Daniel Hannan went viral. Seeking a little hiatus from public humiliation maybe, Brown schlepped his wounded self off to Latin America this week. But rude awakening came yesterday in a tirade delivered by Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. Reports Sky News:

During a press conference, da Silva, a socialist who told Brown poor countries should not have to suffer because of the mistakes of the rich, suddenly pointed his finger at Brown and said, “This is a crisis that was caused by white people with blue eyes. And before the crisis, they looked as if they knew everything about economics.”

Won’t someone give this guy a break?
