The official daily newspaper of Iran tweeted a video of a coffin draped in the U.S. flag that was made to look like it had been tweeted from President Trump’s account.
The video begins by showing Trump’s Jan. 2 tweet of an American flag that he posted after the killings of Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani and Iraqi militia leader Abu Mahdi al Muhandis. The camera zooms in to reveal a coffin underneath the flag and a running count of those “killed,” similar to how Twitter keeps a running count of “likes.”
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei has vowed “revenge” on the United States after the Baghdad strikes.
The tweet ends with a black screen and the words #SevereRevenge in bold, red letters.
